2020 Winter Painting
January 2020, for the third year, spent a week at Camp Menogyn on the edge of the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota, doing winter painting with a group from the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota. The weather was much better than last year. Averaging 20 degrees. About 50 degrees warmer than last year.
Because of the warmer weather I was able to do a nocturne painting one night. - Leave the Porch Light On
I also did several experimental paintings combining plein air painting with abstract lines. See the Yellow, Red and Blue paintings.
At the End of February, I went up to Grand Marais to help take down the exhibit. Five artists spent the weekend at Sugarloaf Cabins, talking are and painting. I did two paintings of the shoreline views from the cabins. Also stopped at the Depot museum in Duluth on the way up and painted cabooses.
