Because of the Covid-19 virus people are told to quarantine themselves for the month of March. One of the artists in the Outdoor Painters of Minnesota suggested that instead of using the phrase Shelter-in-place to use Artist-in-residence.
The last workshop I was able to attend was by DK Palecek. She suggested finding paintings that you liked and paint copies of them. Add the minimum amount of detail to define the subject. Also if you want to put people in you painting, then practice by painting 100 people.

3/26/2020 - The Orange Tug Turbot in the harbor of Cobh Ireland (Irish spelling Cobh pronounced "cove" the "BH" is a "V" sound).
3/28/2020 - The Pusher Tug Capt. Ries on the Mississippi River in Red Wing MN.
3/29/2020 - The crane barge in Red Wing MN where they are building a new bridge and need it to lift parts up from the middle of the river.
APRIL
4/1/2020 - People sitting on the rocks at Artist Point in Lake Superior, Grand Marais MN.
4/2/2020 - Pump jack on the edge of a cotton field by the campground in Burkburnett TX,
I am doing a new painting almost everyday and trying to paint using only a pallet knife. I can apply a lot of paint much quicker than using a brush. A quick wipe on a paper towel I have a clean knife and ready to change colors. I get less details with a pallet knife, but that is a good thing since I am trying to paint looser.

4/3/2020 - Today I took the train painting "Old No 7" from the 1880 Train, Hill City SD that I did in 2016 and painted it again using just a pallet knife. Here are both of them to compare. The new one has better trees and seems to have more detail. That is comes from a few more years of experience.
4/5/2020 - Yesterday and today I repainted the painting I did of the schooner Hjordis that the North School in Grand Marais gives ride on. This was last September during Plein Air Grand Marais. I put this painting in the open class show and it was sold. So going off a photo I painted a new version using just pallet knife.
4/6/2020 - Repainted the "Tanker Cars" painting I did for the quick paint at Red Wing Plein Air last year. It was sold so used a photo I took of it.
